One of the highlights in our office this summer was welcoming two new faces to the team: Gwen and Lorelei. Some of you may have seen them around the office, helping behind the scenes, learning our processes, and getting a firsthand look at what goes into serving our clients each day.
From time to time, we have the opportunity to bring on interns, and it is always a meaningful experience for everyone involved. Internships give students the chance to step outside the classroom and see how the skills they are learning apply in a professional setting. They gain practical experience, build confidence, ask thoughtful questions, and begin developing the habits that will serve them well in their future careers.
But the learning does not go only one way.
Our interns bring fresh energy, new perspectives, curiosity, and a willingness to jump in wherever they are needed. Their questions often encourage us to slow down, explain why we do things a certain way, and look at familiar processes with fresh eyes. In many ways, teaching someone else helps us become better at what we do.
Our clients benefit as well. The extra support helps our team stay organized, complete important behind-the-scenes work, and continue providing the attentive service our clients have come to expect. Even when interns are not directly involved in client conversations, their contributions help the entire office operate more efficiently.
We are grateful for the time Lorelei and Gwen spent with us this summer and for everything they brought to the team. As they head back to school, we hope they take with them valuable experience, new skills, and a better understanding of the many roles that work together to support our clients.
And just as importantly, they leave us with a reminder: sometimes the best way to keep learning is to help someone else learn, too.
